Here at TGW, we’re proud to be members of 1% for the Planet, a global organization of businesses that commit to donating at least 1% of their total revenue, whether profitable or not, to environmental nonprofits doing amazing work on the ground. It’s one of the things we do, along with our B Corp Certification, that holds our feet to the fire and helps us make sure we’re in this for the right reasons.

We’re also going to be launching something new and exciting in the next week or so here at TGW Studio that “forces” us to take another very public, very direct stance on issues such as climate change. We’re going to be asking many other businesses to do the same thing (and helping them get there however we can). That’s something we’re not afraid to do because we understand that in order to make things a little bit better, even just 1% better, businesses have to act as global citizens and environmental stewards just like mindful individuals do.

Giving Back To Our Planet

As Patagonia Founder and 1% for the Planet Co-Founder Yvon Chouinard often states in his talks, giving back and helping solve these problems we face should be looked at like the rent we pay for living on this planet. This is a sense of responsibility that has to be felt by more of us as individuals and especially by more of us as businesses.

Our planet is changing. The true race has become whether or not we can change faster than it. That’s the challenge. That’s the necessity.
